How to Choose a Theme for your Kitchen

Most people have a theme for the decor in their kitchen. If you don't have one or you are ready for a change, this is the article for you!

Step 1

TAKE A LOOK AROUND: Look at different web sites based on kitchens. See what type of decor is popular. Many people have apple or grape (vineyard) themes. Some people have country or Victorian themes. Look at home magazines that have kitchen decor ideas. When you go to friend's house look at their kitchen.

Step 2

NOTE YOUR FINDINGS: When you find something you like write it down. If possible, keep a picture of it- print it off the internet, mark the page in a magazine, or take a picture of your friend's kitchen. Keep these pictures in a folder so that you can find them when you are ready to make over your kitchen.

Step 3

MIX IDEAS: Maybe in your search, you found a couple of ideas on a website that you liked, but you really liked the way your friend had a decoration hanging on her wall. See if you can mix and match the two ideas to come up with a whole new look for your kitchen. Be creative. It's your home and you can do anything with it that you can imagine. Have fun!
